Welcome to the Jikiden Reiki Association! The Jikiden Reiki
Association is a US nonprofit organization whose stated mission is to support Jikiden Reiki
practitioners and teachers in their practice and teaching of
Jikiden Reiki. The Jikiden Reiki Association is dedicated to
promoting communication among Jikiden pracitioners and Jikiden
teachers and to providing information about the teaching and
traditional practice of this simple, effective and original form of
Reiki taught by Dr. Chujiro Hayashi to Wasaburo Sugano and his
extended family in Japan in the 1930s. Dr. Hayashi a retired
Japanese naval officer and medical doctor learned Reiki and the Reiki Gokai or precepts directly from Mikao Usui the founder of Reiki and was one of his 22
chosen Reiki teachers
The word "Jikiden" means "directly handed down" in Japanese. Jikiden Reiki is closely aligned with the Reiki Gokai (Precepts) for Health and Happiness authored by Mikao Usui.
The International Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai or Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto, Japan
is the worlwide center for the teaching and practice of Jikiden Reiki.

Mrs. Chiyoko Yamaguchi, the cofounder of Jikiden Reiki, took her first Reiki seminar from Chujiro Hayashi in Ishikawa, Japan, in 1938 at the age of 17 and she practiced and taught Reiki in Japan until she died in 2003.
The Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai
(Head Office) which is located in Kyoto Japan and is the World
Center for Jikiden Reiki was cofounded by Chiyoko Yamaguchi and her son Tadao Yamaguchi.
Mr. Yamaguchi and Jikiden Reiki teachers -Shihans and Shiankakus- taught by the Yamaguchis,
Frank Arjava Petter
and authorized Dai Shihans are currently teaching Jikiden Reiki
The Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai was cofounded by Chiyoko Yamaguchi and her son Tadao Yamaguchi. Mr. Yamaguchi and Jikiden Reiki teachers or shihans taught by the Yamaguchis and Frank Arjava Petter are currently teaching Jikiden Reiki seminars worldwide. Tadao Yamaguchi's highly recommended book Light on the Origins of Reiki: A Handbook for Practicing the Original Reiki of Usui and Hayashi gives a Japanese spiritual, historical and cultural context to the practice and origins of Reiki in Japan and in the world today.
