Welcome to the Jikiden Reiki Association!
The Jikiden Reiki Association is an international community of
Jikiden Reiki practitioners and teachers supporting each other
in their practice of this form of Usui Reiki. The Jikiden Reiki
Association is dedicated to promoting communication among
Jikiden pracitioners and Jikiden teachers and to providing
information about the teaching and traditional practice of a
simple, effective and original form of Usui Reiki taught
by Dr.
Chujiro Hayashi in Japan in the 1930s. Tadao Yamaguchi's highly
recommended book
Light on the Origins of Reiki: A Handbook for Practicing the
Original Reiki of Usui and Hayashi
gives a Japanese spiritual,
historical and cultural context
to the practice
and origins of Reiki in the world today.

Claire O'Shea is a Jikiden Reiki
Shihan who has taught and practiced Reiki as a Usui Shiki
Ryoiho Reiki practitioner and teacher since 1988 Claire is also
a member of the Reiki Alliance. Claire took the Shoden and
Okuden seminars in 2009 and the Shihan Kaku and Shihan seminars
in 2010 from Tadao Yamaguchi.

How do you choose a Jikiden Shihan or
Teacher to take a Jikiden Reiki seminar from? Claire suggests
that a Jikiden Reiki Teacher must be fully certified as a Shihan
by the Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto, Japan and be able with
integrity to trace their Jikiden Reiki lineage back Mikao Usui
and Chijiro Hayashi through Chiyoko or Tadao Yamaguchi. What do
the individuals Claire treats with Jikiden Reiki and who take
her Jikiden Reiki Seminars have in common? I usually see a
basic compassionate interest in healing others and self.
Jikiden Reiki in my experience restores and revitalizes life
energy, simply naturally and effectively, leading to balance,
wellness, and healing. Will Jikiden Reiki work for you? Reiki
treats the whole persons, not just conditions Reiki supports the
human body's own latent self-healing ability.

Reiki Shoden and Okuden seminars monthly since then in Seattle
and the Wenatchee,
Washington area, as well as in Portland, Oregon, Idaho and

is committed to conducting her Jikiden
seminars in exactly the same format as she was
taught by Tadao Yamaguchi so that the Jikiden
Reiki passed on remains in its original,
simple form.

In
April 2005 Claire was diagnosed with stage IV-A ovarian
cancer as her cancer had metastized to her left lung which
had filled completely with pleural fluid. All of the other
organs normally on the left side of Claire's body including
her heart were pushed to the right hand side causing her
extreme pain. She underwent multiple thoracentesis,
paracentesis, extensive debulking surgery, and chemotherapy
in the course over the course of the next six months. Then
Claire participated for 2 years in a double-blind drug
trial. Throughout all this time she received an
unquantifiable number of distant Reiki treatments from
fellow Reiki teachers. As a result Claire believes she have
been in complete remission from her cancer for the past 7
years. Although some might term this testimony anecdotal
rather than scientific, Claire highly recommends Reiki as a
complementary alternative medicine to conventional cancer
treatment as Reiki
